A teen cannot open my post. Has my account been banned?
The short answer
Not necessarily. Instagram may hide some content and accounts from teens while keeping them available to adults. That is different from removing a post for everyone.
What this answer is based onWhat to do
First establish what is unavailable and whether there is a notice. One inaccessible post does not explain the account’s overall status.
- Ask what the screen says: is one video unavailable, is the whole profile inaccessible, or can they not follow? Do not request the teen’s password or identity documents.
- Review your own notices and Account Status. If a particular post or age restriction is named, focus on that record.
- If you think the decision is mistaken, use an available review option and identify the post. Do not suggest changing the teen’s birth date or creating an adult account to bypass the restriction.
The situation
A creator reviews a horror film using frightening clips. Adult friends can open the Reel, but the creator’s 16-year-old sister cannot open the same link. The creator wants to know whether this is related to the viewer’s age or a restriction on the whole account.
The situation and an improvement
Delete every post because one teen could not open a link.
Keep the link and message text, review your own notices, then decide which material needs attention.
