How do I check for restrictions when my Instagram views drop?
The short answer
Start with Account Status in Instagram. It shows notices about removed posts and restrictions on features. Professional accounts may also show whether their content can be recommended to people who do not follow them. Here is how to find it and decide what to do next.

What this answer is based onWhat to do
You need to be signed in to the Instagram account you want to check. If you cannot sign in, start with login help; another account will not show its status.
- Open Instagram and go to your profile. Make sure you are using the account whose views have dropped.
- Open your profile menu and look for Account Status. Its position can vary by app version. If you cannot find it, choose “I cannot find Account Status” below.
- Look for any restriction notices. If there is one, open it and take a screenshot of the reason and any date shown. Then choose the matching option below.
The situation
Anna runs a bakery. Her recipe Reels usually get a few thousand views, but the last two got only a few hundred. Account Status shows no warnings, so the reason for the drop is still unclear. She compares several similar Reels over their first three days to see whether the drop affects all of them or just a few videos.
More examples
Instagram flags the bio
The warning points to the profile bio. It does not mention the latest Reel.
What to do
Open the warning details. If you understand the requested change, edit that text. If you believe the restriction is a mistake, use the appeal option if available. This notice does not call for deleting your latest Reel.
One post was removed
You can open your account, but Account Status says a photo was removed.
What to do
Open the notice for that photo and read the reason. If you disagree, check whether you can appeal. Removing one photo does not itself mean the whole account is suspended.
