Bosnia and Herzegovina: complain to AZLP about unlawful processing of your personal data or an unresolved data-rights request under Law 12/25. Identify a specific data issue, not just a disabled account.

Independent public data-protection authority, not an NGO or general account-appeal service. Article 6 covers local establishments and foreign controllers offering services to people in Bosnia and Herzegovina or monitoring behaviour there. Explain the responsible Meta entity and this connection; jurisdiction and account restoration are not automatic.

    What to do
    1. AZLP recommends contacting the controller first; this is not stated as a universal complaint prerequisite. For a data-rights request, allow the Article 14 response period: 30 days from receipt, extendable by 60 days with reasons notified within the first 30 days. Keep your request and reply.
    2. Give your name/address, controller name/address, detailed violation and evidence. Attach prior correspondence and representative authority if applicable; date and sign. Phone/email are optional. The current form does not routinely require an ID copy. Never send passwords or recovery codes.
    3. Send the signed form by post or deliver it to AZLP, Dubrovačka 6, 71000 Sarajevo. An oral complaint can also be recorded at the agency. Keep proof of receipt.
    4. Keep delivery evidence and supply missing information by AZLP’s deadline. The statutory decision period is 90 days from filing. If AZLP does not resolve the complaint or report its progress/outcome within 90 days, Article 109 allows court proceedings. Challenge an agency decision before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within 60 days of receipt. No general complaint-filing limit was verified; seek timely legal advice.

Use the current AZLP complaint form citing Law 12/25, not the repealed 2009 procedure. ClearRules does not receive identity documents or submit complaints. Use Law 12/25: published 28 February 2025, effective eight days later and applicable after a further 210 days, in October 2025. Article 116 also gives two years for alignment of existing processing; this does not postpone the current complaint route until 2027.

Your application was not accepted

Read the reason. A case outside the body’s powers, missing documents and a decision against your claim call for different next steps. Correct the stated gaps or follow the appeal instructions in the reply. Check the appeal deadline before submitting again.

Does every country have an account-recovery route?

We have not confirmed that every country has an account-recovery process outside Meta. This directory covers the listed countries, with options for data, payments, harmful content and, where available, account restrictions and court claims. Several links do not mean several ways to restore an account. We state when no suitable option has been found.

The review covers the entries in this directory. It does not establish that every possible route has been found. An accessible page, an applicable procedure and a successful outcome are different things.

How to use this directory

Different bodies handle different issues. A refused data request, a payment dispute and an account appeal involve separate procedures. Choose the one that matches your situation. The body you contact decides whether to accept the case and what action to take.

Each card shows when its sources were researched. No real complaints were submitted.
