I am renting out just one apartment. Do I need to check the special ad category?
The short answer
Meta’s housing-ad restrictions also concern audience selection. The sources describe age and gender targeting bans in covered countries; offering just one apartment is not itself a reason to skip them.
What this answer is based onWhat to do
Describe the apartment: location, price and availability. Check the housing category and settings for the country you will reach before paying for promotion.
- State the actual size, location, rent, additional charges and move-in date. Remove preferences about tenants’ ages.
- Check housing-category requirements for the advertiser’s country and the country you want to reach. If the ad interface requires a special category, select it; do not disguise the offer to avoid a restriction.
- Compare the ad with the full listing. The price, availability and photos should describe this property. Check photo usage rights separately.
The situation
An owner is renting out a Toronto studio and selects Promote. The caption says “For a young couple under 35,” and they want to limit delivery to that age range. This is their first ad; previously they only posted photos on their profile.
The situation and an improvement
“Studio for a young couple under 35.” The plan is to exclude older people from seeing the ad.
“32 m² studio in Toronto, CAD 2,000/month, available November 1. Message to arrange a viewing.” Include all actual charges and review ad settings.
