Facebook ended my session or locked access. What should I do?
The short answer
Open Facebook yourself and read the whole message. “Session expired” does not explain the cause or prove a hack or ban. A normal sign-in screen, a security check and a suspension notice need different actions. Follow the option actually shown for your account.

What this answer is based onWhat to do
If Facebook works on another device you own, keep that session open. Before clearing data or reinstalling, make sure you know your password and can complete the required sign-in verification. Save unfinished work separately.
- Open the official app or facebook.com yourself. Note exactly what it asks: sign in, unlock the account, verify identity or appeal a suspension? Do not continue through a stranger’s “support” link.
- If you see the normal sign-in screen, try signing in on a familiar device. If you forgot your password, use Forgot password. If a verification code is requested after the password, open the Facebook login-code guide. Keep any working session open on another device you own.
- At an account-lock screen, follow the verification offered. Check the email or final phone digits. If that contact is unavailable, use an offered alternative or the lost-contact guide. Submit ID only inside an official process that requests it.
- If verification loops or offers no next step, keep the message and date and open official unlocking Help below. For an unauthorised email or password change, use hacked-account recovery. If the notice explicitly cites suspension for a violation, open that decision and any offered review.
The situation
Your phone says “Session expired”, but Facebook works on your home tablet. Keep the tablet session open. On your phone, open the official sign-in screen and check what it asks for next: a password, a verification code or a separate check.
More examples
“Unlocking sends a code to my old email”
The screen shows an old employer’s email address you can no longer access.
What to do
Requesting again will not change the destination. Check any offered alternative and the lost-contact guide. Do not give your password to someone promising to receive the code for you.
“Now it says my account is suspended”
After a sign-in attempt, Facebook shows a violation decision with a review option.
What to do
Keep the decision and use the offered review. Reinstalling or resetting the password again does not replace an appeal of that decision.

A limited official Help excerpt about unlocking and missing codes was reviewed; the full text was unavailable. Meta’s explanation of adaptive recovery and familiar devices was read. The cause of “Session expired” was not established for an individual account. The branches below select an appropriate process rather than diagnose a cause.
Include the guide link, language and wording that needs checking. Add an official source link if you have one. Do not send passwords, login codes or photos of identity documents.
