Can I guarantee a health result in a post promoting my programme?

A ClearRules guidePublished: How we prepare guides

The short answer

Meta’s 2024 explanation lists exaggerated health claims and sales based on them among content that may remain allowed but be ineligible for Instagram recommendations.

What this answer is based on

What to do

Remove the unsupported guarantee while keeping the programme offer. Describe its actual content and format. For example, “Recorded lessons and weekly Q&A; review the syllabus before buying” is suitable only if those details are true.

  1. Identify the exact result promised in the caption, image and video: what is promised, to whom and within what time?
  2. Check the basis for the claim. Remove exaggeration and unsupported guarantees; swapping words or emojis doesn’t fix the same underlying message.
  3. Keep an accurate description of your offer. If Instagram has shown a notice, read its reason separately in Account Status; editing doesn’t guarantee reach or approval.

The situation

Illustrative example

A creator promotes a programme: “Lose 10 kg in a month, guaranteed for everyone. Buy the course!” This editorial example illustrates an unconditional result promise, not a numerical threshold set by Meta or a verdict on a particular post.
