Ghana — Available options

The number shows how many procedures are listed. It does not guarantee that your case will be accepted. Each option’s requirements are shown below.

Access or protect personal data (1)

  • Data Protection Commission (Ghana)Regional route · check eligibility

Ghana DPC: complain about the handling of your personal data, such as an access request, inaccurate data or unlawful disclosure.

This is not a general appeal against an Instagram/Facebook ban. Check Ghana-law coverage and the correct data controller, especially for an overseas Meta entity. Data access is not account login; neither reinstatement nor compensation is promised.

    What to do
    1. Separate the data issue from a login or moderation dispute. Where appropriate, send the controller a precise data-rights request and keep its receipt and response; the reviewed complaint page does not establish a universal requirement to exhaust Meta appeals.
    2. Open DPC’s official File A Complaint page, not Register or the organisation breach-report route. For your own personal-data complaint choose Data Subject. If representing someone else, ask DPC what authorisation is needed.
    3. The public form marks full name, phone, email, role, the company/person reported and a detailed description as required. Explain your Ghana connection, the processing complained of and the outcome sought. Do not invent the respondent or claim jurisdiction merely from the website being accessible.
    4. An attachment control accepts JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC and DOCX in the observed form; no size limit was verified. Check current requirements and redact unrelated data. The anonymity question does not remove the required contact fields or establish anonymity from every recipient.
    5. Review your information before you submit it yourself. Keep a copy and any acknowledgment/reference actually provided. We read the public form but did not test submission, receipt or tracking.

Report abuse, threats or scams (1)

  • Cyber Security Authority / CERT-GHRegional route · check eligibility

Ghana CSA / CERT-GH: report a real cybersecurity incident, including online fraud, account takeover, impersonation or online blackmail, for triage and possible investigation or coordination.

This is not a general ban appeal or a promised refund, content takedown or account recovery. An incident report does not by itself establish that a police complaint or prosecution has begun. Immediate physical danger needs local emergency help rather than waiting for this form.

    What to do
    1. Distinguish fraud, unauthorised access or threats from an ordinary platform restriction. For a compromised account, continue the official Meta recovery/security process in parallel; CSA is a separate incident-reporting route.
    2. Open the official CSA Incident Reporting page. It lists its form and report@csa.gov.gh, calls/SMS to 292 and WhatsApp 0501603111. Use the page to verify current contacts; Ghana short-code access and charges from abroad were not verified.
    3. The visible form includes full name, organisation, email, phone, location, age, category and message. Give truthful relevant details and a concise chronology. Do not invent an organisation; ask CSA how to complete any field that does not fit.
    4. Describe the account, incident, evidence available and assistance requested. The inspected page did not show an upload control, so ask for a secure evidence channel rather than pasting unnecessary sensitive material or using an unofficial recovery agent.
    5. Review and submit yourself only if the route fits. Save your copy and any actual acknowledgment/reference. No form submission, hotline call, message delivery or investigation outcome was tested.

No general deadline for filing or resolving an incident was established from the reviewed pages. Report ongoing harm promptly and preserve evidence; this does not suspend any bank, platform or legal deadline.

What to prepare

Keep affected profile/post URLs, usernames, dates/time zone, original messages, screenshots and relevant transaction references. Describe what happened, current harm and your connection to Ghana. Do not include passwords, OTPs or full card details; do not download or forward illegal sexual images as evidence.

What to do after applying

No reply yet

The official page says reports go to CERT-GH for triage and further investigation. Triage is an assessment, not a guarantee of action or a response by a set date. No universal filing deadline or resolution time was verified.

Your application was not accepted

Read the reason. A case outside the body’s powers, missing documents and a decision against your claim call for different next steps. Correct the stated gaps or follow the appeal instructions in the reply. Check the appeal deadline before submitting again.

You have a reply, but the issue remains

If you cannot use the form or receive no acknowledgment, verify an alternative contact on the same official reporting page and follow up with the date and reference if one exists. Ask whether a separate police report is needed. For financial loss, contact the relevant payment provider promptly; CSA reporting does not reverse a transaction.

Does every country have an account-recovery route?

We have not confirmed that every country has an account-recovery process outside Meta. This directory covers the listed countries, with options for data, payments, harmful content and, where available, account restrictions and court claims. Several links do not mean several ways to restore an account. We state when no suitable option has been found.

The review covers the entries in this directory. It does not establish that every possible route has been found. An accessible page, an applicable procedure and a successful outcome are different things.

How to use this directory

Different bodies handle different issues. A refused data request, a payment dispute and an account appeal involve separate procedures. Choose the one that matches your situation. The body you contact decides whether to accept the case and what action to take.

Each card shows when its sources were researched. No real complaints were submitted.
