How do I find recent posts from my Facebook friends and groups?
The short answer
Open Feeds and choose a filter such as friends, groups or Favorites, if available. Meta describes it as a chronological view of posts from people, Pages and groups you already follow or belong to. Home also includes recommendations. Feeds still includes ads.
What this answer is based onWhat to do
Decide whose updates you want to read, then check that you still follow the person or Page, or belong to the group. Changing a feed filter cannot give you access to a private group you have not joined.
- Find Feeds in the app’s navigation or menu and choose the filter you need. If the names in your version differ, check official Help for the current instructions.
- For friends and Pages you read regularly, review Favorites and choose whom to include. Group membership is managed separately. Check the view’s heading and post dates: Home and Feeds change what you see, not your privacy settings.
- If a particular notice is missing, open the original profile, Page or group. Check that you still follow it or belong to it, and read any message shown with the post. If Feeds itself will not load, report that technical problem through official Help. A loading failure does not by itself show that you have been banned.
The situation
Example: a resident opens Facebook to read her neighbourhood group, but Home shows unrelated videos. She chooses the groups filter in Feeds, then opens the group directly if she needs a particular notice.
The situation and an improvement
Keep refreshing Home and assume the group has stopped posting.
Open the relevant Feeds filter, then check the original group.
More examples
An advert appears
You see an advert among updates in Feeds.
What to do
The launch description includes ads. This alone does not mean you opened the wrong view.
A private group is unavailable
A friend sends a group post you cannot open.
What to do
Check membership and the notice shown. Changing the feed filter does not grant access.
