An important post keeps getting buried. How do I pin it to my profile?

A ClearRules guidePublished: How we prepare guides

The short answer

Use the profile-pinning option in your own post’s menu, if available. Meta describes pinning up to three posts or Reels. It helps people visiting your profile find something useful; it does not promise more feed impressions.

What this answer is based on

What to do

Choose a post that answers a common visitor question. Check dates, prices and links before making it prominent.

  1. Open the post from your own profile and look in its menu for the profile-pinning option. Saving someone else’s post and pinning a comment are different actions.
  2. Apply the option, then return to your profile and check that the intended post appears at the top. If the app reports a limit, decide which existing pin you no longer need before replacing it.
  3. When the information becomes outdated, open the pinned post’s menu and look for the unpin option. Check the profile again afterwards. You do not need to delete the post merely to change what is pinned.

The situation

Illustrative example

Example: a maker posted booking details a month ago. New photographs of her work have made that post harder to find. Before pinning it, she checks the prices and contact details.

The situation and an improvement

What causes the issue

Keep sending visitors a link to booking details buried among older posts.

A more accurate version

Put current booking details near the top and review them whenever your arrangements change.

More examples

An offer has ended

An expired discount is still prominent.

What to do

Unpin it and check other prominent places in your profile for the same outdated offer.

A different introduction

You want to highlight your team rather than last year’s event.

What to do

Choose the relevant post, change the pin and check the resulting profile.
