Why was I charged twice or after cancelling?
The short answer
Start with the receipt: confirm the subscription, profile and billing provider. Apple, Google and direct Meta purchases have different billing and refund routes.
What this answer is based onWhat to do
Deleting the app or removing a card does not cancel a subscription. Never pay to recover another banned account.
- Using the purchasing account, match receipts and payment history: compare completed charges, pending amounts and active subscriptions.
- Charged after cancelling? Check confirmation, the next billing date and your cancellation deadline. A badge can remain until the cycle ends.
- Cancellation and refund are separate. Eligible refunds for direct computer purchases are automatic; request Apple or Google refunds through the store.
- Paid without verification? Follow the official verification instructions; payment alone does not confirm approval.
- Still unexplained? Contact your bank or card issuer with the receipt.
The situation
Hypothetical: two charges might cover different active subscriptions; a pending amount is not necessarily another completed payment.
