Why can I still post but no longer earn money on Instagram or Facebook?
The short answer
Being allowed to publish does not establish eligibility to earn from that content. First read the monetization notice for the affected profile, Page or post; a monetization restriction, recommendation restriction and disabled advertising account need different checks. A missing earning tool can also require an eligibility check rather than an appeal.
What this answer is based onWhat to do
Save the exact policy name, affected content link, notice date and any review reference before making changes.
- Identify the exact platform, profile or Page and earning product. Record whether the notice concerns one post, an account-level policy issue, product eligibility or a payout. If you cannot sign in, start with the login-trouble guide.
- On Instagram, use the mobile app with the affected professional account. Open Settings through the menu, then Creator tools and controls or Business tools and controls, and look for Monetization status.
- On Instagram, open Current policy violations and read each decision. If you disagree, use Request a review when offered, either for the listed violations together or for an individual item. Follow any limit or waiting instruction shown.
- For a Facebook Page, Meta's desktop route is Meta Business Suite, Monetization, then Policy issues. Select the affected Page and use Request another review when available. For a professional-mode profile, use the mobile route: the appeal article says the desktop Business Suite route does not cover these profiles.
- In the Facebook app, open the monetization violation notification and its Policy issues or Restricted monetization screen. Use Request review if offered. For an individual content decision, use the appeal instructions linked from that decision or the official appeal article.
- Explain the specific mistake and relevant evidence when requesting review. Keep the confirmation, follow any instructions shown and check the same decision for updates. If a control is missing or broken, use the help/reporting option available to that account; do not assume a separate public form exists.
The situation
Hypothetical example: a Facebook creator can publish reels, but one video has lost monetization. They open that video's decision and review the named policy instead of treating it as a disabled advertising account.
More examples
If reach also fell
Monetization is restricted and fewer non-followers see your posts.
What to do
Check recommendation eligibility separately. The recommendations guide covers distribution; resolving one restriction does not prove the other has cleared.
If there is no policy violation
The status looks clear but an earning product is absent.
What to do
Check that product's current account and regional eligibility. Do not submit a policy appeal unless there is a decision to challenge.
If money is already missing
The account earned money previously, but a transfer has not arrived.
What to do
Check the payout transaction separately in the missing creator payment guide. A monetization review is not evidence that a payout was sent.

Also read Facebook's demonetization overview. No account was accessed, no review was submitted, and account-specific availability, outcomes and waiting periods were not tested. The inspection date is not a publication date.
Include the guide link, language and wording that needs checking. Add an official source link if you have one. Do not send passwords, login codes or photos of identity documents.
