  • Appeals Centre EuropeRegional route · check eligibility

Independent review of an eligible decision

This is a short eligibility check, not confirmation that your case will be accepted or your account restored. Read the full rules and check ACE’s current information before submitting.

    What to do

    Check ACE’s requirements

    • You are located in an EU member state and are at least 16.
    • The platform decision was made within the last six months. Check the date of that decision.
    • Submissions and correspondence are accepted in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish or Dutch. This is separate from the language of the disputed content.
    • An account, Page or group restriction must require reviewing one or more pieces of content. Being unable to sign in alone does not make a case eligible.

An internal Meta appeal is encouraged, but you do not have to file one or wait for its result before contacting ACE. If you have appealed, keep that information.

    Which cases are outside scope
    • Impersonating another person, brand or organisation; account removals based on minimum age; identity-verification requests and outcomes.
    • Hacked or compromised access; behaviour-only decisions; suspension solely through linkage to another suspended account; technical or automated spam.
    • Content removals based on copyright or other intellectual-property claims; suspected sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Check ACE’s rules separately for other CSE categories.
    • Check the restrictions if the same dispute is already before another out-of-court dispute body or a competent court. That is different from an internal Meta appeal.

Access or protect personal data (1)

  • IMYRegional route · check eligibility

Sweden: complain to IMY about unlawful processing of your own personal data or an unresolved GDPR rights request. Identify a concrete data issue, not merely loss of account access.

IMY is a public authority, not an NGO or recovery service. GDPR Article 77 permits complaints especially in the EU Member State where you habitually live, work or the alleged infringement occurred. Explain your Swedish/EU connection. In cross-border cases your chosen EU authority remains the contact point; another authority may handle the case.

    What to do
    1. Contact the controller or its data-protection officer first, especially for access, erasure or correction. The normal response period is one month from receipt; a necessary extension of up to two further months must be explained within the first month. Keep the request and reply. A moderation appeal alone is not a data-rights request.
    2. Include your identity and contact details, the identifiable controller and the data issue. For a platform rights request, keep the dated request, replies, extensions and identity-check correspondence, with email headers visible. Include the username and linked email/phone; if a portal left no copy, give submission date and time. Never send passwords or recovery codes.
    3. Use the official form, identify the controller, describe the data issue and prior contact, and enter the date of your first rights request when relevant. Attach only relevant evidence: at most three files, each no larger than 8 MB. After sending, wait for confirmation, download the complaint copy and save the emailed receipt.
    4. If no receipt arrives, ask IMY whether the complaint was received before resubmitting. Answer requests for missing information. If IMY has not decided within three months whether to begin supervision, request written notice under Chapter 6, section 8. IMY must respond within two weeks; silence counts as refusal. Refusal can be appealed to an administrative court. Check appeal instructions promptly; this is not a final-decision deadline.

If you have Sweden’s special protected identity/address status (skyddade personuppgifter), use post, not the e-service. Anonymous or incomplete reports may be treated as tips. The controller can see your submission, and documents may be disclosed after a confidentiality review. Send only necessary material; ClearRules neither collects it nor files the complaint.

Impress reviews illegal-content decisions under Irish law and related account restrictions. You need an EU connection, a supported platform and English-language content. Filing is also in English and free; internal appeal is optional. Check exclusions: outcomes are non-binding and restoration is not guaranteed.

    Help limit intimate-image sharing

The service helps limit sharing on partner platforms. It cannot remove everything from the internet or restore an account.

    What to do
    1. Check your age when the image was made and the service’s conditions.
    2. On the official site, use only material already on your device. You do not need to send the file itself.
    3. Keep the case details and follow the instructions for checking progress.

For intimate images of you taken at 18+, including threatened sharing. You need the file on your device. It stays there; a digital fingerprint is shared. Coverage is limited to participating public-facing platforms, not the whole internet or encrypted messages. Keep your case number and PIN.

Consider a court claim (1)

  • European Small Claims ProcedureRegional route · check eligibility

    Hearing an eligible court claim

Small claims often concern monetary claims. The court may not have power to order account restoration. Consider fees, costs, deadlines, contract terms and local rules.

    What to do
    1. Read your region’s court rules. Check jurisdiction, claim limits and available remedies.
    2. Identify the correct defendant and service procedure. Prepare a timeline, evidence and an amount based on documented losses.
    3. Check required pre-action steps and fees. Use the court’s own form; this guide is not a court filing.

For eligible cross-border civil and commercial claims up to €5,000; Denmark does not participate. Use Form A. Check jurisdiction, court language, fees and the remedy separately. Completing a form online does not necessarily file it electronically with the court.

Does every country have an account-recovery route?

We have not confirmed that every country has an account-recovery process outside Meta. This directory covers the listed countries, with options for data, payments, harmful content and, where available, account restrictions and court claims. Several links do not mean several ways to restore an account. We state when no suitable option has been found.

The review covers the entries in this directory. It does not establish that every possible route has been found. An accessible page, an applicable procedure and a successful outcome are different things.

How to use this directory

Different bodies handle different issues. A refused data request, a payment dispute and an account appeal involve separate procedures. Choose the one that matches your situation. The body you contact decides whether to accept the case and what action to take.

Each card shows when its sources were researched. No real complaints were submitted.
