What to do

Reply where the question is actually about your product. To “Do you have an unscented candle?” you might say, “Yes, we have an unscented one; the ingredients are on the product page.” Stop pasting the pitch across unrelated posts.

  1. Stop pasting the same advertisement under unrelated posts.
  2. Read the person’s question and answer it if your product is genuinely relevant.
  3. Do not keep pushing an offer that people in the discussion do not want.

The situation

Illustrative example

You sell candles and paste “Handmade candles, DM to order 🔥” under 40 posts about food, sports and travel. Nobody asked about candles.

The situation and an improvement

What causes the issue

“Handmade candles, DM to order” under dozens of football posts.

A more accurate version

To “Do you sell unscented candles?” reply: “Yes; the product page lists the ingredients.”
