My views dropped. Has my account been restricted?

A ClearRules guideUpdated: How we prepare guides

The short answer

Allowed content isn’t always eligible for recommendations. A drop in views alone doesn’t prove an account restriction.

What to do

Which platform?

  1. Check your notifications and the available status of your Facebook profile or Page. First look for a specific restriction notice.

  2. If a restriction is listed, save the reason and open the available actions. Request review of the specific decision if you believe it is mistaken.

  3. If there are no notices, compare several similar posts over comparable periods. Look at format, subject and audience response. One low-view video does not prove a restriction.

If this step did not help

Being eligible for recommendations does not guarantee reach. Deleting posts in bulk based only on statistics will not tell you the cause.

An everyday example

“My videos usually get 3,000 views; the latest got 200.” Check the status first. If there are no notices, compare other videos too: one number cannot explain the cause.

Buttons and available options may vary. Follow the message shown in your account.

The situation

Illustrative example

Yesterday’s Reel got 8,000 views; today’s got 600. It opens on your profile and friends can see it. You wonder whether you’ve been “shadowbanned.”
