Appeal an account restriction (3)

  • Consumidor.gov.br / Facebook / InstagramLocal body or procedure

    Consumer complaint

First identify the seller on the receipt: it may be Meta, Apple, Google or another company. A payment complaint does not guarantee account recovery.

    What to do
    1. Write to the seller: what you paid for, what went wrong and what remedy you want. Keep the reply.
    2. Check whether the local body accepts disputes with that seller. Give the facts and amount, and attach the receipt.
    3. Keep the submission confirmation and reference number. If asked for more information, reply within the same case.

Choose Facebook / Instagram for an eligible consumer dispute. A prata/ouro gov.br account is required; legal entities are excluded except MEI. Do not put identifying details, including a personal profile, in public text. Company response: up to 10 days; assessment: up to 20 days. This is not a court decision or guaranteed restoration.

  • Procons — local consumer assistanceLocal body or procedure

    Attempt at an out-of-court settlement

First check where the company is registered, which remedies are available and the rules for taking part. A mediator and a court have different powers.

    What to do

The authority appears in an official directory. We have not fully reviewed its local form or submission requirements. Use this link to find the authority; we have not confirmed that you can submit a complaint through it.

Find the complaints section or contact details. Check whether the body handles your issue and which documents it needs. This link is not a confirmed submission form.

Find your state or municipal Procon and check its intake rules. ANPD also recommends Procon for account cancellation or lost access, so payment is not a universal condition for this option. Include company correspondence and evidence. This is a separate complaint without guaranteed restoration.

  • São Paulo TJSP CEJUSC — pre-lawsuit civil and consumer conciliationRegional route · check eligibility

Pre-lawsuit conciliation for civil or consumer disputes within a São Paulo CEJUSC’s territorial competence. Platform-service disputes need local screening and the other party’s participation.

This is São Paulo's court-connected service, not a nationwide intake portal. A mediator cannot impose reinstatement or compensation. A pending identical lawsuit must use conciliation through that case. No evidence was found that Meta routinely agrees to participate.

    What to do
    1. Use the official unit directory to confirm the competent local CEJUSC and whether the dispute is suitable.
    2. Select the Cível e Família pre-lawsuit link or contact the unit for in-person intake.
    3. Provide the parties' details and the dispute summary; ask about fees and legal aid before the session.
    4. Attend the arranged session and evaluate any proposed settlement; if agreed, request judicial approval.

Confirm the competent São Paulo CEJUSC and a settleable civil or consumer dispute. No identical lawsuit should already be pending; use that case if one exists. Business applicants must check admissibility and representation. Settlement requires agreement.

Appeal the removal of a post (1)

  • Oversight BoardInternational service · specific conditions

Independent review of an eligible decision

A review does not guarantee reversal. Do not duplicate a submission while the same case is still awaiting a response.

    What to do
    1. Open Meta’s final post decision and find the reference ID. Without it, this route is unavailable.
    2. Choose Submit an Appeal on the Board’s site, sign in to your active account and submit within Meta’s stated deadline.
    3. Check Track Your Appeal. Submitting does not mean the Board will select the case.

For eligible content decisions only: requires an active account, Meta’s final decision and a Meta-issued reference ID. The Board selects a limited number of cases. If the account is disabled and you cannot log in, this route does not fit.

No explanation or way to appeal (2)

  • ANPD — Marco Civil platform-duty reportsLocal body or procedure

    Report about service compliance

Reports can inform supervision, but the regulator may not resolve individual disputes or recover an account on request.

    What to do
    1. Keep your report to the platform and its response.
    2. Choose the appropriate category on the regulator’s page. A supervisory report does not replace a Meta appeal.
    3. Keep the submission confirmation and reference number. If asked for more information, reply within the same case.

For a possible breach of Marco Civil platform duties, choose Denúncia Marco Civil. Contact the platform first where required. A prata/ouro gov.br account is needed. ANPD generally considers reports collectively, without an individual decision; this is neither a ban appeal nor a criminal report.

Access or protect personal data (1)

  • Agência Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) — LGPDLocal body or procedure

    Protect personal-data rights

This route concerns data rights. Being unable to log in does not by itself prove a breach: this is not an account-recovery service. Investigations and remedies depend on local law.

    What to do
    1. Describe the specific data issue. For access requests, first ask Meta for the data and keep a copy of your request.
    2. Check local deadlines and requirements. Attach your request and reply, and explain which data rights were affected.
    3. Keep the submission confirmation and reference number. If asked for more information, reply within the same case.

For an unmet data-rights request, choose Petição de Titular and attach your earlier company request. ANPD normally considers reports collectively and does not promise an individual reply. Ordinary account-access, cancellation or backup problems are directed to Procon or Consumidor.gov.br.

  • StopNCII.orgInternational service · specific conditions

    Help limit intimate-image sharing

The service helps limit sharing on partner platforms. It cannot remove everything from the internet or restore an account.

    What to do
    1. Check your age when the image was made and the service’s conditions.
    2. On the official site, use only material already on your device. You do not need to send the file itself.
    3. Keep the case details and follow the instructions for checking progress.

For intimate images of you taken at 18+, including threatened sharing. You need the file on your device. It stays there; a digital fingerprint is shared. Coverage is limited to participating public-facing platforms, not the whole internet or encrypted messages. Keep your case number and PIN.

What to do after applying

No reply yet

Keep the protocol number and check Minhas Solicitações in the official system. ANPD normally considers these reports collectively; a receipt does not promise an individual decision or account restoration.

Your application was not accepted

Read the reason. A case outside the body’s powers, missing documents and a decision against your claim call for different next steps. Correct the stated gaps or follow the appeal instructions in the reply. Check the appeal deadline before submitting again.

You have a reply, but the issue remains

A receipt confirms delivery. For your own refund, contract or access claim, choose the appropriate separate procedure. Do not wait for an individual remedy from a service that explicitly does not provide one.

Does every country have an account-recovery route?

We have not confirmed that every country has an account-recovery process outside Meta. This directory covers the listed countries, with options for data, payments, harmful content and, where available, account restrictions and court claims. Several links do not mean several ways to restore an account. We state when no suitable option has been found.

The review covers the entries in this directory. It does not establish that every possible route has been found. An accessible page, an applicable procedure and a successful outcome are different things.

How to use this directory

Different bodies handle different issues. A refused data request, a payment dispute and an account appeal involve separate procedures. Choose the one that matches your situation. The body you contact decides whether to accept the case and what action to take.

Each card shows when its sources were researched. No real complaints were submitted.
