A review does not guarantee reversal. Do not duplicate a submission while the same case is still awaiting a response.
What to do
Open Meta’s final post decision and find the reference ID. Without it, this route is unavailable.
Choose Submit an Appeal on the Board’s site, sign in to your active account and submit within Meta’s stated deadline.
Check Track Your Appeal. Submitting does not mean the Board will select the case.
For eligible content decisions only: requires an active account, Meta’s final decision and a Meta-issued reference ID. The Board selects a limited number of cases. If the account is disabled and you cannot log in, this route does not fit.
This route concerns data rights. Being unable to log in does not by itself prove a breach: this is not an account-recovery service. Investigations and remedies depend on local law.
What to do
Describe the specific data issue. For access requests, first ask Meta for the data and keep a copy of your request.
Check local deadlines and requirements. Attach your request and reply, and explain which data rights were affected.
Keep the submission confirmation and reference number. If asked for more information, reply within the same case.
Contact the company’s privacy officer first. OPC checks federal jurisdiction and can recommend measures, but cannot order disclosure, compensation or account restoration. Its complaint process starts with jurisdiction triage; some matters belong to provincial regulators.

Use the official directory to check provincial jurisdiction. Alberta, British Columbia and Québec have private-sector privacy laws; other provinces’ mandates may be limited to public-sector or health information. Residence alone does not determine which authority can hear a Meta complaint.
Check the service’s scope and any fees. Advice does not itself require Meta to restore an account.

Choose your province or territory and the appropriate consumer office. For a foreign company’s digital service, first check jurisdiction and eligibility. Prepare the receipt, agreement and supplier response; rules and assistance vary by region.
This concerns harm or misconduct, not reversing any Meta restriction. If you face immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
What to do
Keep links, dates and evidence you can safely preserve. Do not redistribute illegal material; follow the service’s instructions on evidence.
Read the service’s rules, choose the relevant type of harm and complete the report. State whether you have already reported it to Meta.
Keep the submission confirmation and reference number. If asked for more information, reply within the same case.
Report Cyber and Fraud accepts fraud and cybercrime reports. CAFC gathers information and supports police; investigations belong to the relevant police force. This is not a review route for an ordinary account restriction.

Help limit intimate-image sharing
The service helps limit sharing on partner platforms. It cannot remove everything from the internet or restore an account.
What to do
Check your age when the image was made and the service’s conditions.
On the official site, use only material already on your device. You do not need to send the file itself.
Keep the case details and follow the instructions for checking progress.
For intimate images of you taken at 18+, including threatened sharing. You need the file on your device. It stays there; a digital fingerprint is shared. Coverage is limited to participating public-facing platforms, not the whole internet or encrypted messages. Keep your case number and PIN.

CRT can issue protection orders for eligible intimate-image cases. Check the British Columbia connection, limitation periods, evidence and service requirements. Protection-order filing is free; a damages claim is separate and may involve fees.
What to do
Open CRT’s intimate-images guidance. Check eligibility for sharing or threats on or after 6 March 2023, the British Columbia connection and the filing deadline.
Choose the protection-order application and identify the orders sought. Prepare evidence under CRT’s rules; a damages claim has separate requirements and fees.

Nova Scotia assistance with cyberbullying or non-consensual electronic sharing of intimate images, including advice and voluntary dispute resolution. A person supporting a victim may also contact CyberScan.
Scope is online abuse of a person, not an ordinary account suspension, lost commercial reach or payment dispute. The unit provides voluntary help; it does not itself make binding takedown or damages orders. This is a Nova Scotia service, not a Canada-wide complaint authority; ask it to assess cross-border eligibility.
What to do
Record what happened and preserve available dates, messages, account identifiers and links safely; ask the unit how to handle intimate-image evidence.
Call CyberScan at 902-424-6990 or 1-855-702-8324 during its published weekday hours to explain the issue and Nova Scotia connection.
Discuss whether advice, negotiation, mediation or another voluntary approach is appropriate.
If a binding remedy is needed, ask about the separate Supreme Court cyber-protection application and its requirements.
The facts must concern cyberbullying or intimate-image abuse. Explain the Nova Scotia connection and ask about cross-border eligibility. Informal participation is voluntary; a prior platform complaint is not listed as a condition of contacting the unit.

Different routes seek different outcomes. Use a data or payment complaint only when that is the actual issue.
No confirmed process outside Meta has been found for this situation
This does not mean you have no rights or other remedies. Our country directory has no confirmed route for this particular issue. Start with the available Meta process, or choose another issue if it also applies to you.
Individual cases highlight possible difficulties, not success rates. User accounts have not been verified against case records; official case studies are labelled separately.
User-reported experience
Facebook and Instagram returned; WhatsApp did not
Partial restoration reported · Post date:
A Canadian resident reported recovering Facebook and Instagram after about 18 months, several attempts and an OPC complaint. A later Meta email mentioned the OPC case, which the author believes helped. The cause was not independently established. WhatsApp reportedly remained unavailable.
What this means for you: Check each service separately. OPC handles privacy issues; a case reference in an email does not prove that the complaint caused recovery.

Does every country have an account-recovery route?
We have not confirmed that every country has an account-recovery process outside Meta. This directory covers the listed countries, with options for data, payments, harmful content and, where available, account restrictions and court claims. Several links do not mean several ways to restore an account. We state when no suitable option has been found.
The review covers the entries in this directory. It does not establish that every possible route has been found. An accessible page, an applicable procedure and a successful outcome are different things.
How to use this directory
Different bodies handle different issues. A refused data request, a payment dispute and an account appeal involve separate procedures. Choose the one that matches your situation. The body you contact decides whether to accept the case and what action to take.
Each card shows when its sources were researched. No real complaints were submitted.
